Bartlett-Collins was started in 1914 in Oklahoma. It was known for its hand-pressed and blown tableware, stemware, and kitchenware. By the 1930’s they were making coloured stemware, all by hand. Bartlett-Collins Glass was sold to Indiana Glass in the early 1980’s.
This Barrett-Collins clear glass juice pitcher and glasses with frosted grapes, cherries and pears and gold band was a wedding gift for my grandparents, who were married in 1948. I wrote about their wedding before. The glass is incredibly delicate and thin compared to glasses sold today, and therefore very light. This pitcher has been so well used that the gold band is almost completely worn off. It’s perfect for serving water or iced tea at a summer party. 🙂
Imagine a delicious glass of summer iced tea. Take a long cool sip. Listen to the ice crackle and clink. Is the glass part full or part empty? – Vera Nazarian
