Dear Monday, I want to break up. It’s not you – it’s me. I ‘m seeing Tuesday and dreaming about Friday. xoxo

It’s been a day and it’s not over yet! I did something to my back last night, and while it’s better today, it’s not great! I had hoped to stay quiet but with impending bad weather, I decided to grit my teeth and make my weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store. I took my friend…which means a 1 hour job takes much…much longer. But I also appreciated the help.

I got home to find out my David’s Tea order is a mess, even after spending 40 minutes on hold on Saturday to fix said mess. Multiple emails say it wasn’t completed but my cart is empty. The wrong amount was still charged to my credit card, and after 3 hours of waiting online and on the phone, I’m losing hope it will be resolved!

Time to put the kettle on!

Not all good teas come from fancy stores. Admittedly, you get what you pay for and those fancy stores sell quality teas. But I raised to be a thrifty girl. Treats are treats because I don’t have them all the time! So I’m pleased with my President’s Choice Chocolatey Chai tea!

Chocolate Fixes everything…

This was an impulse buy on a drizzly day, just like today. Not only can I taste the chocolate, the undertone of spices enhance it. It contains roasted chicory root, carob pod, spices, cocoa shells, natural flavour, ginger root, licorice root, and cocoa. I find many of the chai blends have such a strong pepper taste, or such a potent ginger heat, that they are unpleasant (or I have to really be in the mood for pepper and heat). I’ve also found that many chocolate teas don’t taste like chocolate, or it’s so watered down, it’s limp! This was similar to S’more Chocolate Chai from David’s Tea, but this was creamier (and it doesn’t contain any cream). It’s also herbal, whereas David’s is definately caffeinated! Not bad for box of 20 satchets under $5.

Wanna know a secret! I’ve actually started opening a tea bag into a bowl, and I add a skimpy 1/4 tsp. to an infuser and drop it in my teapot in the mornings, with a regular black tea bag. The whole pot is infused with a note of chocolate and spice, and that, my friends, is balm for the soul.

Even on a crappy Monday! Cheers!

Chocolate Bunny Psychology

Every year, I have written short and silly posts about Chocolate Bunny Psychology, and it continues to be one of my most popular posts…all year long. What is it about cannibalizing chocolate bunnies that attract so many people worldwide?!? Maybe the Beatles got it wrong. It’s not “all we need is love” – it’s all we need is chocolate bunnies. Could bunnies be the next weapon of mass destruction? Or even better, if we could harness the power of the bunny, could we have full and lasting world peace? Something to ponder while I demolish this pink foiled confection.

How do you eat your chocolate bunny and just what does it say about you? Where do you start – ears first? Toes? Tummy? I usually start with the candy eye (maybe I can’t bear for it to see what’s coming next), but according to a new Bunny Test (link at the bottom), I am an expressive and sensitive person (hope so). Connections are important to me (true). I am adventurous and make friends easily (well, they can’t all be accurate).

The majority of chocolate bunny consumers admit they start with the ears…I’d venture to guess that if you start to feel guilty, you can stop eating the bunny and the bunny will still “be alive”…or that with no ears, the bunny can no longer hear you sneaking up behind it, or lying that you weren’t the one to eat it! Some sites say that those who nibble from the ears down are logical, determined, not overly sentimental and complete things quickly. Ear nibblers make no apologies. But if you eat your bunny feet first, then you hold things dear, wear your heart on your sleeve, as well as possess a wonderful, child-like sense of curiosity. Tail-eaters are either competitive and seek power, or are kind-hearted and unrestricted.

If you can’t bear to watch as you slowly cannibalize your chocolate bunny, what about melting it, or freezing it and whacking it with a heavy object. I’m just saying – you could avoid a lot of unpleasantness that way.

To take your own Easter bunny test, check here!  Otherwise, please enjoy a nibble with me!

Happy Easter

Chocolate…

Another gray day, and for the first time, I am kind of struggling with something to write about. I have lots of ideas but none particularly grab my attention…today. So I started flipping through journals and past devotional talks I have given. There’s actually some surprising material there (if I may say so). I have faced a lot of fears in my life, but posting some of that material is making me nervous…and I’m not sure why. I certainly have no problem with being completely open (warts and all)! I keep revisiting the purpose of this blog as well, and I haven’t received many comments (that’s not a criticism) to know what interests others…I’m writing for me and I’m loving it…but I still struggle with wanting others to love it too. I think that desire for approval has faded as I’ve gotten older, but obviously it’s not gone yet!

So…let’s keep it light today! There’s enough cloud cover outside (and inside too), and I’d rather laugh than cry! In fact, I have a sign in my kitchen that says “My soul’s had enough chicken soup…I want chocolate”!

Chocolate….Something to Consider When Planning Your Daily Diet!

Chocolate is a Vegetable: Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans. Bean=vegetable. Sugar is derived from either sugar Cane or sugar Beets. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.
To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.
Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

If you’ve got melted chocolate all over your hands, you’re eating it too slowly.

Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It’ll take the edge off your appetite and you’ll eat less.

Eating equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate means you have a balanced diet. They counteract each other.

Chocolate has many preservatives…preservatives make you look younger.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your daily intake of calories in one shot? Isn’t that handy?

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated. We can’t let that happen.

Remember: “stressed” spelled backwards is “desserts”.
