Happy New Year to my many friends in the blog world! Your encouragement has meant so much to me over the past year. My mother woke up this morning, ready to tackle the new year, but I woke up not sure I’m quite ready to let the old one go. First, I’d like to finish what I’ve started, so therefore, I am posting the final prompts in the Capture Your 365 Project for 2014! Click on the photos to read the quotes.

I made it! Now to decide what “project” to tackle in 2015 – I suppose it should be New Year’s Resolution(s)?

Last night, driving to the final swimming lesson, Little Guy was convinced that the Christmas lights at one house spelled out words. I assure you, they did not. But I can see how he thought that…it was dark, snowing and windy…and he was wearing his swim goggles…

I am happy to see November behind us, with its roller coaster of temperatures and its fading colours. It’s time to put the last of November’s 365 Project challenges behind us too. Here’s the final installment – click on the photos to read the quotes. Once I recover from Laser Tag, I’ll get started on December. Happy Wednesday! 🙂

Today is National Sardines Day…which just sounds fishy to me. I will not be celebrating. Will you?

Instead I will be doing the usual Monday running around. I’m thankful that, after our unexpected wintry weather, we’re experiencing a day of warmer temperatures and melting snow. It feels like Spring and I hope to take advantage it and snap a few more pictures to finish off November’s Capture Your 365 prompts. Here’s the next installment – click on the photos to see the quotes. Happy Sardines Day!

Dear Out-of-Province Aggressive Driver:

Thank you for honking behind at me at the red light – I didn’t move because there was on-coming traffic. Thank you for tailgating me, even though I was driving 10 km over the speed limit. And thank you SO much for intentionally cutting me off in such a way that I had to slam on the brakes and swerve toward on-coming traffic. I particularly liked the way you flipped me “the bird” when I slammed on my horn once I knew I wasn’t going to die! I like feeling like Bruce Willis in a Die Hard movie as I make my way to the school after…well, a hard day!

While I wasn’t able to get your license plate number (because you didn’t have one on the front of your car and I only saw the province name and (coincidentally) an “F” and “K” as my life passed before my eyes), may I remind you that your vehicle was still plastered with your company’s internet address …and they have plenty of ways for me to contact them through the social media realm.

Please enjoy these pictures and click on the photos to read the quotes…while I work on a polite response.

Yours truly,

*Jenn

I was singing “Let It Snow” all Saturday morning because…well, it was snowing. Hard to believe we had just endured trick-or-treating in the rain the night before! I was also baking cookies – shaped like high-heeled shoes…Holly Homemaker stuck her nose in the back door, quietly whispering that while I was at it, I should bake orange-cranberries muffins since I bought the cranberries two weeks ago, or perhaps something with the jack-o-lanterns rotting on the front porch. I threatened her with the rolling pin. So the sneak bothered Big Guy. Big Guy taught Little Guy how to cook scrambled eggs, which meant that lonely egg white in the bowl, got used after all. Score a point for Holly Homemaker!

Here’s the final installment for October for the Capture Your 365 Project. Hello November!

This weekend, I received a very high compliment from The Nest. Not only was Evil Squirrel kind enough to call me an “avid photographer” (as opposed to what I really am – a “wanna-be” with a fancy camera I’m not sure how to work properly), but he also showcased some of my backyard beauties (and my overgrown garden) on his Saturday Squirrel post! I say backyard beauties because black squirrels are abundant here, but not so in other parts of the world, and I never realized it before. Cheers to all creatures great and small!

While I patiently waited on my back porch to snap my furry friend (he’s been taunting me for months), I managed to fulfill a few more Capture Your 365 Project prompts as well. But I’d better hurry…October is over in less than 3 days. Click on the photos to see the prompts and quotes I chose to go with them. 🙂

It’s OK. I may have eaten several slices of pie this weekend, but I worked some of them off yesterday…mall walking…between stores! My wallet got a small workout too, but I don’t get to shop very often so I’m avoiding feeling guilty. Guilt will only lead to more eating…
