This beautiful James Sadler pot in swirls that alternate with gold and cream floral chintz, was produced in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. James Sadler was founded in 1882 and became synonymous with quality and good taste.
This teapot (and cream & sugar bowl) belonged to my maternal Grandmother. I’m relatively certain she told me once that it was a wedding gift, but no one can verify the claim. My grandparents were married in 1948.
Friendship is a precious gift that can’t be bought or sold. It’s value is greater than mountains made of gold. If you shall ask God for a gift be thankful if he sends not diamonds pearls or riches but the love and trust of friends. It is the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter. – Marlene Dietrich
Happy Monday!
I’m glad we’re friends. Having tea with you would pump it up a notch, especially with this splendid teapot. It looks wedding gift-ish to me!
We could have a grand time, Marian! Did you know I have 7 teapots? I have had my eye on others but, alas, no space to keep them! lol
