For this week’s challenge, show us something that surprised you on “the road taken.”
I was looking for a different photo when I found this again!
Last Spring, I went for a walk (possibly the only one last Spring) and was surprised by a single pink peony waving at me between the slats of a white picket fence. Luckily it was just down the street, so I hightailed it home to grab my camera.
It’s still winter here, though it has been milder than in recent years. The snow has melted, leaving behind a world of grays and browns. I’m looking forward to the return of colour!
I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles. -Audrey Hepburn

This will make my day….What a lovely blog…. I love that you found a peony on your walk…(Last year0 One that looked like mine.. Mine was a root from Grandma Forbes that I carried along from my many moves, the last in King City .I don’t have one like it here, but there is one that is a bit similar. I almost felt a feeling come over me ..”I must tell Mom”… I also want to tell you how very proud I am of you .You are a strong woman . & I’m so happy you have found a strong faith in God.. That helps a lot when we face life.I also loved the Quote by Audrey Hepburn…. How very apt for the blog & yes we strong women HAVE to learn to laugh at what life throws us or how could we face some things ? And I also believe in miracles.. How very Wonderful God is to us ! A miracle that you happened to post this today & I can appreciate the beauty of you & a flower … Thank you ,my dear,I love you..Auntie Ruth…..

That looks like a peony to me. I wonder what month you found it. In May in PA Mother would put a bucket with extra peonies in them. The neighbors were invited to take some.
It probably was May. Peonies are my favourite flowers – they remind me of ruffled ball gowns and a painting in my “dad’s” room when I stayed overnight at the farm.
